10. HAVING A THANK YOU COORDINATOR
10. HAVING A THANK-YOU COORDINATOR
Finally, the fifth people task is here.
I like to think of the "thank you note" as an essential of party etiquette. "Thank-you notes" are always required for
those who brought gifts or shared in the preparations. But you can also use the thank-you note as a method to get some
feedback on the party, to request copies of any photos that were taken for your scrapbook, to get commitments for
support for the
next party and just to re-establish communication lines between us.
Do you thank everyone who came? Yes,
I believe so. Of course, you send only one "thank-you note" to a family and not individual notes to each member.
It is also important to send the thank you notes within the first two weeks after the party while the event is still
fresh in people's minds.
The thoughts expressed in the notes can be simple and short. The least expensive way to send out notes is via email, but
not everyone is cyber savvy today. The best low cost method is via the US Postal Service in the form of postcards. But
the thought of writing out the same verse on 75 postcards just overwhelms me! Doesn't it you?
Use 110 lb card stock and our PC to design a thank you message that fits into a postcard size. Run the card stock
through the printer twice so your return address is automatically printed on the reverse side. Then, with
the aid of a pair of scissors, you can easily cut them to the proper postal card size and add a stamp.
If you previously selected an
icon or symbol for your party decorations, add it to the "Thank-You Note".
Place a sheet of address labels in your printer and run off a copy of the guest list addresses. Peel these stickers
off the backing and add them to your postcards and you are ready for the mail drop!
Now, I would like to send you a "Thank-You Note" for spending time with me on this project. Will you give me
your name and email address?
Have you heard what you needed? Do you feel like your time has been well spent? Do you
feel better equipped now to plan a party for 100 people than before? I sincerely hope so, as
that has been my intention all along.
I do encourage you, however, to look at the information below and order your copy of
my eBook on recycled paper crafts and prayer.
Best regards,
Kathleen Callanan

It's a Thrill to Show Off
the Napkin Rings my Sister made!
Dear Recycled-Paper-Crafts.com,
Gracious Living!
These Napkin Rings are the most beautiful thing Kathy has ever made.
As a cloth doll artist, I have the
opportunity to examine the creative works of many people and I can tell you that this technique she is
using results in a very beautiful creation. They remind me of Japanese lacquer. I am just thrilled to put
out the tablecloth and add napkins to the evening meal and have the family over for dinner. Not only
are they a conversation piece, they help me to have a festive atmosphere without the fuss of a holiday
meal!

Words from a Real Great-Great-Grandmother!
Hi Recycled-Paper-Crafts.com:
These paper crafts are unusual, beautiful and are handcrafted with spirit. It is such a simple idea to give such a
wonderful look. They almost "speak". In my 91 years, I don't know when I have seen anything like them. And the bead
project is even more outstanding because of the sculptured effects and color combinations. My 7 year old
great-grand-daughter learned how to make them in just one afternoon and then, taught her 9 year old girlfriend.
Sincerely, Grace M. Callanan, Crafter and Crochet Artist

Let Me Toot my Own Horn
Dear Reader,
Need to read my 15 second bio?
Maybe you don't know me or haven't heard of me. .
If that's the case, you are probably wondering if I can possibly help you achieve this goal.
Here are five reasons you can know I'll deliver the goods:
-
My 65+ years of life experience qualifies me as a "Gray Haired Guru" with a wealth
of worthless information.
Title: "Gray Haired Guru"
- For nearly 10 years, I have been specializing in Paper Crafts as my hobby focus
at the Windmill Village Hobby Club of North Fort Myers, Florida. My crafts have sold at
each Hobby Bazaar and across the country, wherever I go.
Title: "Recycled Paper Crafts Guru"
- My academic profile includes engineering degrees from the University of Michigan
and the University of Hawaii, a diploma in Japanese Language and Culture from the
St. Joseph Institute of Japanese Studies in Tokyo, and studies in Scripture, Theology, and
Missiology at Maryknoll Seminary, LadyCrest Novitiate and the Maryknoll Mission Institute.
For thirteen years, as a
Maryknoll Sister, I served in the mission fields in Hawaii and Japan, gaining tons of
cross-cultural experience and insights to prayer.
Title: "Educated Guru"
- I have worked in the US industrial complex as an engineer and leader for
over 19 years, initially with the Hazeltine Corporation in Massachusetts and lastly with
The Boeing Company at their Kansas facility. My travels have taken me half-way around
the world and back again, molding my personallity and character into what it is today.
Title: "Well-Travelled Guru"
- Finally, I am retired now and spend my time as a companion to my very
active, 91 year old mother. So, I 've learned to budget my time more than ever before.
I just don't know how I ever had time to work!
Title: "Grannie Guru"
I have what it takes to bring you success
on this project.
